Get to know me!
My name is Sara Pardo, I’m a passionate young chef, who loves to make people happy with food.
I was born in Costa Rica, but all my family is from Spain. My parents had a restaurant for 27 years In Montezuma Costa Rica, where I worked every holiday since high school. I’ve always been surrounded by food.
That is why I have a special way of seeing gastronomy, with Latin & Mediterranean influences.
Since I was a little girl I fell in love with baking, and I knew at a very young age that I wanted to be a chef, with pastry being my joy.
In 2021 I graduated university with a 4 year bachelor’s degree in gastronomy at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. With a Cordon Bleu diploma.
After that, I did my professional practice at Hotel Dreams las mareas (Guanacaste, Costa Rica) rotating between all the different restaurants.
Since 2020 I became very interested in Asian cuisine, because it wasn’t my forte and I wanted to expand my culinary knowledge. So I’ve been studying and practicing to be able to offer the best and most authentic experience in this type of gastronomy too.
In 2020 I opened and managed an online pastry and cake business for a year back in Montezuma, Costa Rica. where I was born and raised before moving to Guanacaste.
This really helped me to gain a lot of experience as a pastry chef.
In April 2023 i went to Barcelona to do a Masters specializing in pastry and desserts at L'atelier Barcelona, one of the best bakeries in the city. It was truly an amazing and enriching experience.
In may 2021 I moved to playa copal, la Cruz, very close to Costa Elena.
And In early 2022 I was given the opportunity to work as a private chef, and have been doing so since February 2022.
Since I started offering my services at Costa Elena, I’ve found a new love in being a private chef.
A job I never thought of doing when I graduated university.
But i've come to realize that the ability to exploit my creativity while giving a unique personal experience for every family, for me, is what I love most of being a Chef!
